An iceberg is a large floating ice mass. The part that you see sticking up out of the water is big, but the part underwater is usually so much larger. There's more than meets the eye. So, when people say "that's just the tip of the iceberg," it means that you're not seeing everything there is to it.

Iceberg is a floating mass of ice, usually detached from a large glacier flowing into a larger body of water (think Greenland glacier flows into North Atlantic and breaks up into icebergs). Usually the portion of the iceberg you see above water is a small fraction of the true size of the ice berg (seeing the top third of a triangle above water, when the bottom two-thirds is below the sea level).

When we say 'we've only seen the tip of the iceberg', we mean there's more to an issue or situation than what we're actually seeing at the current moment, a greater issue or development still lies beneath or ahead.

An ice berg is floating ice. 80 per cent of an ice berg is below the water. Tip of the ice berg means that you are only seeing a small part of the picture.

An Iceberg? its a big chunk of Ice you see floating above sea or ocean... they came from glaciers ot top of (mostly) mountains or land or whatever... the bulk of an iceburg can be seen under the water and the tip is only a small percentage of its whole size...

When we say its only the tip of the iceberg it means its only a small fraction of what the thing would be...

It's a very very large slab of ice that floats out in the ocean. Although the iceberg is very large all you can see is the tip, making it seem small. That's why people say "it's only the tip of the iceberg".
