Socks sometimes get shoved into other clothes - sometimes you find them in sheets, shirts, pants.....Or if they're small, they get sucked right out. But usually not. If your socks really get eaten, hang them up to dry. Also, sheets should only dry with other sheets, and clothes like shirts and pants vests etc. should go together as well. That might save you knots and will dry better, they'l all be the same thickness etc.

Good luck with the knots...

There is a "Sock Monster" at my house too. We have named her "Gracie" I have found her to be QUITE intelligent and EXTREMELY ravenous. And they DON'T eat just socks! There are MANY things which disappear in OUR home.
I KNOW she is female because my husband's things NEVER seem to go astray. It's only MY stuff AND my 2 teenage DAUGHTERS things that go missing. I ask you, what self-respecting MALE Sock Monster would make off with MY make-up, only eat 1/2 of it, and leave the rest just LYING around?!
I KNOW she is intelligent because it doesn't seem to matter WHERE I hide things, or HOW diligent I am she STILL manages to dig through my stuff when I'm not looking!
I believe she hangs out in my daughter's room as most things go missing either FROM there or TO there.
She also likes to raid the fridge at night.

First of all shirts should not be washed with sheets but i could be the way you are putting in your load.........do you just throw everything in all together or do you place items in one by one. As for the sock thing I think it is a conspiracy by the units (lol)

Just think if you were washing stockings, and panties and bras oh my! I end up with something akin to the giant rubber band ball in Guiness world records!
