Of course you have the right, but you'd be an idiot not to take the lawyer they give you or hire your own

Sure you do, but it's never a good idea. The courts are a racket, designed to shake you down. If you aren't willing to show a judge that you can play by the rules now, by hiring a lawyer, then he's going to stick you with the worst penalties he's got. Paraphenelia should be a fine, but the marijuana could be jail time depending on how much. Accept the court appointed lawyer at the very least!

It has been said that the man who chooses to defend himself in a court of law has a fool for a lawyer.

No, not in Florida, you don't. The courts have ruled that the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendments doesn't apply there.
Seriously, if you have to ask this question, you really need to hire an attorney, or you're going to go to prison for the rest of your life.

You do, but the judge will attempt to persuade you to use a lawyer because it will make his job easier and it will cost you a legal counsel fee. Do it yourself because all you have to do is make a plea agreement, you'll get probation which sucks but a lawyer will do no better. You will save a few hundered dollars by doing it yourself. That is money you can spend on more weed.

Yes, in any state, but you know what they say:
It's a stupid man that has himself for a lawyer.
If you can't afford a lawyer have them appoint one to you.

You can represent yourself.
It will make it easier for the judge (and/or jury) to prove you're guilty. Defense lawyers are snakes.

You are free to act as your own attorney. Just keep in mind that you have a fool for a client!
And you can forget any appeals based upon inadequate or ineffective defense counsel!
Enjoy your time in prison!

Yes, in much the same way that you have the right to cast yourself adrift on a rubber raft in the middle of the Atlantic.
Not generally a wise thing to do, but you are legally entitled to do it.
