When I lived in Panama, we were shown a spider that could spin a web that could stop a nine mil. bullet at point blank range. I can't remember the name of the spider. Any help, please?

Many spiders produce very strong silk, on average about 10X stronger than steel of the same width.
Spiders like Nephila produce by far some of the strongest. These spiders are common in places like Panama, and also to the Southern Unites States and Mexico.

There is not spider like that. Spider silk is very strong, but not strong enough to stop a bullet. I guarantee you have not seen it. If you had seen it, someone would have been able to tell you what it was. At least better than us people who haven't seen it.

The imaginary spider? Kind of like the camel spider... real, but highly exaggerated.

And stop trying to steal my spider web adhesive idea... the research is almost finished. Beat ya to the Patton office!

Spiderweb silk is so strong that if you sewed it into a vest one inch thick it would stop bullets. However I don't think there a specific spider whose web actually would stop bullets as is.

His name is Juan and he is lying like a big dog. He once told me that he could jump a tall building with a single bound. Little wonder people don't like spiders. Lying bastards.
