When I look out of my kitchen window I very often see someone peeping behind the wall across the way that leads to a public footpath. They are looking right at my house and when I open the front door they disappear presumably up the path and away. This has happened several times in past week and is becoming most unsettling. Is this a Police matter or would it be perceived as 'too trivial' ?

How scarey...call your local police station. Not 999 though. It's a crime so report it...it's a peeping Tom!
Don't know how you can stay in the house...I'd be terrified.
Good Luck and call them Immediately.
Hopefully it's only kids being curious.

Yes, call the police on this matter. Or set up a camera that is aimed there so you are taping the peeper(s) and you have proof. It sounds like someone may be casing your house so they can rob you. Or you could hang out on your side of the wall and when they peep you can jump out and catch them, or if there is a bench on the footpath or a place where you can sit, sit there like you are reading a newspaper or just enjoying the day and see if you can see who is peeping at your house. Make sure you are taking extra security measures, ie making sure all of your windows and doors are locked, stuff like that. Good Luck, I hope it's just nosy people and not people who want to steal from or hurt you.

Notify the Police at the very least, I'm they won't do much in the first instance but you're on record then as reporting it.
TBH, this will either escalate (hopefully not) or fade away.
Have you upset anybody recently who may simply be trying to scare you? The main thing is to make this person aware that you're on to them. Maybe shouting 'I've reported you to the Police' at the top of your voice will be enough to put them off.
Have you got any hulking brute friends who might be willing to lend a hand keeping an eye on the path and accosting the culprit?

Good luck, stay safe!

I agree you should contact the police......do you have a dog? One would be great in this capacity - another idea is to open the front door with a camera and start snapping! This will shake up the perve or thief.....good luck and be safe - the police should have more suggestions for you.

Doesn't sound trivial at all. I would consider getting extra outside lighting as a deterrent. If you could catch them an a cam camcorder it would be useful in terms of informing the police.

It could be Dionysis the greek god of wine. He was seen by world war two fighter and bomber pilots at high altitude peeping over the wing. SO to ward him off, get your wife to hold a Bacchun festival, where her and all her mates dance around drunk and naked and something else that I can't remember.

report it. you have to, anything could happen.. what / who is he looking for?

if you have seen him several times then you can bet that it has happened more when your not looking.

if you are pretty or have children of dateable age it could just be kids, but you can't be too carefull.. if they are looking at your house, can you go upstairs and see him or take a picture?

or go out the back door, loop around and catch them. and hit them with a trout or something?

i would use explosive charges elecrically detonated on the fence, "but that is what i have to hand"

GOOD LUCK

Nothing is too trivial if you're starting to feel unsafe. if something should happen (which I'm sure it wont) and you mentionned it to the Police then, they'll say "Why didn't you report it earlier?" It can't hurt and you never know.. Stay safe x
