OK, since no one else has given you the right spelling, I will - it's Amyl Nitrate. This should make it easier to look up.

Such inhalants give a momentary feeling of euphoria and have been used in the past when dancing or having sex. However, they also produce an acceleration of the heartbeat and other negative body side-effects. It is EXTREMELY dangerous to use "poppers" with ED drugs like Viagra and/or "street" drugs like crystal meth.

There are also some studies out there that have shown a link between popper use and certain diseases.

Overall, listen to everyone here, including me - poppers are dangerous, bad news, nothing to even try. Oh yeah - and they are very, very flammable - yet another type of danger. Stay away! :o)

"Poppers" is the popular name for various alkyl nitrites, including isobutyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, and amyl nitrite. The two main containers that alkyl nitrites are distributed in are small glass vials/bottles, or small glass ampules which are 'popped' or 'snapped' in order to release the vapors. Thus the name poppers. They are also sometimes, but less commonly refers to as snappers.

Poppers are used by sniffing the vapors. The effects are felt within a few seconds and last for 1-2 minutes. Poppers cause muscles around blood vessels to relax, making your heart speed up to pump more blood. Oxygen-rich blood reaching the brain produces a "rush" sensation. Because poppers cause muscles in the anus and vagina to relax, they are often used during sex.

It is illegal to sell poppers as "inhalants" in the United States and many other jurisdictions. This is the case regardless of the formula. Most retailers circumvent this restriction by selling them as 'video head cleaner', 'room odourizer', 'leather cleaner', etc. Web dealers are less prone to be careful, because of their ability to hide their identity.
