Bourgeoisie vs Proletarians in a class struggle, with the bourgeoisie (the haves) keeping the proletarians (the have nots/workers) down. The idea is for the proletariat to overthrow the bourgeoisie and do away with private property and ultimately there would be a classless society. Also, during the struggle, the Communists would support every revolution against the existing social and political order.

In theory it isn't a terrible idea, but I just don't see it being practical.

most of the communist manifesto deals with the struggle between the bourgeois and the proletariate. Its a long struggle that has occurred throughout history (historical materialism)
basically the proletariate needs to pave the way to revolution with the blood of the bourgeoisie. when this new goverment happens each person will contribute according to their own ability and in return receive according to what they need.

basically there is a plan for short term goals including the abolition of land ownership and the right to inheritance, a progressive income tax, universal education, and the nationalization of the means of production and transport...

The Manifesto is pretty short... you should read it... its a quick and easy read.

OR you could just go to sparknotes and read their summary.

basicly it is saying that the working class is being abused and exploited by the rich and that no other system can free the worker except Communism.

It also gets into the forming of the Communist party.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".

Good theory comrade. Marx's prediction that capital would accumulate in ever smaller but more powerful organisations - didn't happen in his lifetime, but could be happening now.
