I mean...if love is blind..its sayin that you can no longer see or even think as clearly as you would if you werent "blind", right?...so how is this in anyway a good thing? Isnt being able to have a clear perspective ALL of the time much better than thinkin you are happy with someone bcuz your minds trickin you into believing it? I dont mean to come off as cynical....i just am a little confused about that expression.

Oh, omg no, im sorry you completely misunderstood me there Vick, i never meant that ppl who are blind cant think clearly. If i said that, i really would be the dumbest person on earth..what i meant was love and how it messes with your head, you know? Like when you like someone so much that you cant stop thinkin about them?...That´s the kind of "blindness" i mean. Soo sorry for my lack of articulacy, i didnt mean for it to come off the way it did!!!!

Oh..and also by being blinded by love, i didnt mean being blinded to superficial things like appearance or anythin, i was talkin about the persons personality...like for example, say theres a Person A and a Person B. Person A loves Person B with all her heart, but Person B isnt exactly that good to Person A you know...but shes blinded by her love towards Person B. Is it then still a good thing? And when you do know how to tell the difference of when someones really the best person for you to be with or when they are not? ....umm i hope that some made sense.

I hope that I'm not getting this confused--

True love is never blind, actually only in true love do you actually see things that others dont! But when one defines love as being blind...then that is just a really strong infatuation.

You must first define true love in your own terms. In general, people describe love to be a mutual feeling of caring emotions between two people. So if person A "loves" person B, but B does not reciprocate similar emotions to A...then B does not love A...and A is only infatuated with B. How could that be true love when it is so one-sided? Kind of like Narcissism. Narcissus thought himself "in love" with the person he saw in the waters, but Narcissus never recieved caring emotions in return---because for one, it was only his reflection and two it was in vain....thus making it only an infatuation!

Here is a Poem:

It has been said that love is blind. But, with that I cannot simply agree. Love just helps us all to find a sweetness that others cannot see.

Love sees the beauty deep within a gentleness that's not easy to show; but one can see again and again a side that only you are allowed to know.

A tender look seen in their eyes a hand reached out to help another quick to answer a small childs cries accepting all as sister or brother.

Real love does not see imperfections; does not see color shape or size. It relies only on their own interactions knowing they never want to say goodbyes.

No, love is certainly not blind, for it sees what others may miss. We love from the heart not the mind, sealing that love with a touch and a kiss.

Love is a special gift from our God, born and breed deep in our heart. As through this life we all must trod we surely need love to play it's part.

The expression is often used when, for example, someone falls in love with someone of a different race in a society where that is frowned upon - their love caused them not to see race as an important factor. In this case, love's blindness brings people together across boundaries that didn't make any sense to begin with.

It also might be used in situations where someone falls in love with someone that is simply bad for them, and I think that's what you're talking about. In that case, the blindness of love would be a bad thing.

Having a clear perspective is a very important part of love. One can be 'blind' to race or other trivial distinctions and still be very level-headed about why they love the person they love.
