what was your felon? If it was nothing crazy that has to do with rape murder or children then good luck.

Most states have a 5-7 year grace period after your last conviction, before your record will be considered to be purged, whether you have misdemeanors or felonies,or both. I only have 3 misdemeanors in Florida, but I have to wait till next February before I can ask the governor to purge my record, for example.

You definitely will not be able to get a job with a school, as every person working (or even volunteering in many areas) need to have their clearances checked. You may, however, be able to find employment elsewhere, depending on the severity of your crime(s)

the time range is a plus but also the charges against you and what you did (severity) will play a part. Most schools and employers do background checks and its their decision wether to hire you or not

I guess it depends on what you were convicted of. If it is not a crime against a person, no gun involved, nothing violent.....you have a good chance at pursuing this career.
