mammals do have belly buttons, they just look different than human ones and are hard to detect.....not sure about other forms of animals....i think the bippy is only a mammal thing cuz it has to do with an umbilical cord

They do, but they're covered by hair. Haven't you looked at the little spot on a dog or cat where the umbilical cord fell off? Anything that had an umbilical cord has a belly button.

my 4 dogs have a spot on their belly where the belly button should be - where they were connected to their mother before they were born. i can see this because they are small dogs with nut much hair on their bellies

They don't all have the obvious button we do our outie, but they do have one if you look closely. Most you just can't see because of the fur.

some do, some don't. cats and dogs do, because they have an umbilical cord before birth.
if they don't, they were hatched by an egg and not grown inside of the womb.
