Does anyone in the real world really believe that John Reid would be a better choice to succeed Tony Blair than Gordon Brown? Let's face it Reid has added hugely to the inconvenience of air travel on doubtful evidence and Brown is in the process of taxing the air we breathe.Hobsons choice?

The problem is who do you put in power. the Tory hoodie boy is not right to rule the UK. He will operate like a head prefect at a private school. No one in the present Labour government has the intellect or the common sense. They also have to accept their part in the Iraq war and the Mess in Afghanistan. Margaret Becket has been muted with Reid well give me strengh. If that is the standard of MP's we have available I am leaving on the next boat out.

Blair is no different now than he was even before he gained power. It was transparent then that he was not the right choice. I am a socialist. Blair is not. However, the people got the man they wanted, and now they will no doubt choose someone new who will also betray the ideals of socialism. Who is the real power in England anyway? It is certainly not the PM.

While I believe that Gordon Brown will be the next Prime Minister (if only because the Tories cannot win) John Reid is definitely an asset to the country. He is articulate, not afraid to speak his mind and, I believe, genuine which is rare in politics. Aside from that I would get a certain satisfaction from Scotland gaining its independence and leaving yet another Scottish government in Westminster.

We are now scraping the barrel looking for a Prime Minister. You would think there would be a never ending queue of talent to choose from, is it really that bad ! As far as Reid is concerned if he were chosen I would have to consider suicide

We don't want a Scot as PM but having said that, Labour have no chance of getting in again. They have really cocked this country up-bigstyle.
