It means that they really didnt like you that much, they were using you for something, they got what they wanted and now they dont want you anymore.

It used to be "I played you like a fiddle, I plucked your strings and you performed". Or, "I played you for a fool"
It means taken advantage of, and if you were told that, it means the person also wants to hurt you with the knowledge of their doing it to you. It is designed to belittle you in your eyes and others around you, often told you in front of another. Definately NOT a nice person.
