I'm terribly confused by the emotional attachment people have to Pluto.
To me, it's far more interesting and exciting that the Solar System is better understood, so that Pluto's proper classification as a Kuiper Belt object can now be fully appreciated.

Yes, I can't help but feel a little down today. Because I now live in a smaller solar system, my own importance has also been diminished. The demotion of Pluto was nothing less that an assault on the ego of every Earthling!

I'm really pretty sad. I'm in 9th grade, and just 2 years ago, when we did planets, Pluto was so very real. Pluto should be Mickey's dog and it should be a planet. End of story.

I'm reserving my own judgement until the probe New Horizons reaches it in 2015 and we know more.
