I think it's because we tend to be emotional beings and love is like tops on the emotion scale.

I'm not happy because my love is currently on business in Ghana, then Nigeria for a fortnight, on to China for another two weeks then back to Nigeria for yet another two weeks.
I love him to bits but the long absences drive me crazy...

Does it, I tend to look at being in love like stepping in a pile of poop... "Aw damn, I am in love again..." In the beginning it is all lovey and roses and sweet nothings in my ear, and later it is restraining orders, (on them,) black eyes and broken hearts... sorry for my negitivity, but I am real here.

scientifically, it rasies your "happy juice" so technically it makes you happy. .. .
But everyone needs love to make their world go round. . . it gives you a sense of security and its fun and comforting. . . We all need love!
