That is the response I hear upon calling individual that I have not heard from in a long while, so once I phone them, it seems that is the first thing utter out of there mouth. To me is seems that I surprised them by calling them and their conscience bother them because I phone them. I would rather they don't say the "I was just thinking about calling you" upon my phoning but just continue with the conversation. Have you experienced the same thing?

I haven't experienced it, nor have I done it to anyone on an out of work level. But, if I have a message to call someone at work and I don't right away, then they beat me to it. I do say "I was just about to call you back". In a work environment, this helps so that they don't think either a. it doesn't look like the receptionist forgot to give the message or b. that I forgot. Typically, I get soooo busy that I have to prioritize and if it doesn't have to do with what I am working on that moment or next, I don't the chance to call them back until the end of the day. So, it helps kiss butt a little bit. In the work environment, this isn't meant to disrepect or lead anyone on, this is simply to pacify the client.

So to sum it all up, they're just pacifying you. Not trying to be jerks. (hopefully)

Yes i use to get that alot til i cut the person off and gave them a piece of my mind then moved on. I think its best u try to forget that person and move on with ur life that way u will see more positive things happening for u and u will be happier with your self.

He's been nice and cordial, don't believe it. Although, sometimes it just happens, but sometimes, not every time you call.
