I want to find a person that can be honest, I've been married 20 yrs and I catch my wife in lies, so are there any honest people really. I do my best to never stray from the truth even those little lies hurt you so why can't everyone just start telling the truth

Because once someone starts to tell the truth they have to face the world with all of their faults showing. It's not just simply telling the truth that happens it's a feeling of being vulnerable that goes along with it. I agree that people need to be more honest but the simple fact that people are afraid to get hurt in some way or another by others these days causes them to be guarded. Often when we are guarded it is easier to lie about something then tell the truth because often times the truth does not only reveal the truth for that circumstance but our own insecurities and what we see as flaws. Nobody likes to leave themselves vulnerable so they lie to cover up for themselves. In the end it's not just that everyone can't tell the truth it's that people can't accept themselves for who they are and show everyone who they really are.

I am the same way as you..lies are going to get bigger and bigger in time..next time she tells you something you know is a lie, tell her not to talk to you unless it's the truth..some think always telling the truth hurts people's feeling, so they don't..whatever..honesty is still the best policy

:) i know someone who is truthful. ;) and i'm thinking of having him as my boyfriend. i'm so tired about the untruthfulness of the guy who supposed to be my boyfriend. he keeps on hurting me by talking to the girl whos ultimate goal is to separate us. :P but yea.

because people are basically insecure and afraid... not a reason, just an excuse,,, I dont know why people lie, its dumb and it should make them feel worse but it doesnt seem to.. sorry you're having trouble..
