So some IDIOT just hit me the other day and took off and my car got pretty damaged. I have a 99 Hyundai Tiburon. I am for sure going to need a new door and some fixing of the back area above the tire. The inside of the door is fine though. Does ANYBODY know anything about cars that would be able to tell me any kind of estimate for this??

You should report it as a hit-and-run to your insurance and ask them if they have a preferred body shop in your area. If you have full coverage, all you have to do is pay the deductible. Even if you don't, it's still a good idea to go to a preferred body shop because they usually do good work. For the body work you described, don't be surprised if the repairs are $3,000.00 or more. Hopefully it'll be less than that, but if they have to replace the entire door skin and a quarter panel, that's a lot of work.

Your best bet is to take your car to a few body shops for an estimate. It is gonna cost you a little time (which, by the tone of this question, you don't have), but it'll be worth it. Without seeing the car, being able to really look at it and lay hands on it, all you're going to get on here is a wild-*** guess, which won't do you any good.

Take it to a body shop or four. Let them do the estimate.

You can get an estimate from a body shop but I will guess that it is gonna cost around 3,000 for your damages from what you described

i dont know how much that would cost to fix, but if you're handy, a much less expensive fix for smaller gouges is a moulding cream. my dad used it on his old car, and you just apply it to the car and shape it in the shape you want it. then, it will harden, and you use spraypaint to cover it. you have to make sure that you can get the exact color paint if you are going to use this method.

You have to take it to a body shop. Not seeing the damage, I wouldn't know what to replace or repair.
