I'm in Ireland and miss Scotland because it's my home. Mmy son's there He's 25 you see so he's got his own life! What else do i miss? My friends, going down the high street and having a bar lunch on a saturday (When not working) STV! Yes i miss Scottish TV! Food and the Highlands! I loved nothing better than week-ends in the Highlands. I don't miss the Highland midges though! Nasty beasts! But i'm happy in Ireland! i just get really excited whenever i go back to Scotland, if you're ever on the ferry across from Belfast to Stranraeer, you'll know me! I cry with excitment as soon as i can see the coast, can't wait to get off the ferry, the mad woman with cheeks red with excitment as she finally disembarks in Stranraer (Usually under pouring rain, playing Runrig in her car? That's me!

From USA, now in UK. Also miss root beer, being able to see the horizon at night, pecan pie, proper mexican food, Jiffy corn bread mix (well, any Jiffy mix, really), brownies in a box, ranch dressing, Thanksgiving, the warmth, being able to open your windows in the evenings, wide open spaces, places so dark you can see the stars by laying on the grass and looking up, and most of all, my family and friends :(

I’m living in CA in the U.S at the moment and I am from Ireland. I miss good food in general (mainly bacon, sausages, chicken and beef because they do not taste the same here), wrapping up warm on cold nights, my friends and family and all the small conveniences of living in a village. Although I will be home by this time next week and I can't wait and I will most likely miss California when I’m home because I have made some good friends!

For you, i would get yourself up to Scotland, plenty space up here, im Canadian myself but have lived in Edinburgh since i was 4 and wouldnt go anywhere else. If you travel North of Stirling theres barely anyone there and beyond Inverness the scenery is breath taking and the space is amazing, and we have the best night sky in the world.
When i go abroad i miss the accent, and food and most of the scenery

I'm an Aussie living in the UK and I like it here, but that said I miss:
Arnotts Shapes
Gravox
Long Summers
Cheds

Grand Ridge Beer
My family
Proper beaches
Road trips in Country Victoria
Proper Aussie Rules Footy
Pies
There's more, but that'll do.

Strangely enough I am not a foreigner but I miss the space to move in, freedom of speech, the rights to think what I want and take out of a system what i have paid into it. Maybe I am a foreigner from a better time........

I've been gone from America for years... and I miss how friendly people used to be in the old days. People never used to trouble themselves so much about religion in our town... and now everyone hates each other. And I'll send you some pumpkin pies...

For me it's mainly the foods that are locally associated with where I'm from. Also missing American sports at a decent time. But wouldn't change it, I love it in the UK!

a new zealander who lived in the uk, now living in italy .... when i lived in the uk, i missed the sun, driving, crunchy peanut butter, roasted new zealand lamb, my dad's cooking, homegrown tv .....
now that i live in italy, i can't say that food is top of the list of things i miss...... what i really miss from home being considered equal to men. women here are not really considered equal, and after growing up in the 1st country in the world to give women the vote, it's really frustrating at times.
