Scott... you're a loser. to respond to the question... No, it really is no longer all about sex. an excellent form of folk hype it up and make it appear like it really is the superb aspect ever. Come on... there's a lot in existence that could be more desirable helpful than sex. actually there are an excellent form of girls who want sex, yet there are basically as many who note of their bodies and their virginity to no longer supply it up till they're married. per chance you'll detect a woman like that? Or if the girl you want now's fairly prepared to attend, that works out too :)

The legal age of consent has no bearing on sex.
Only older men are ever charged with underage sex and then often get away with it.

Unfortunately, sex isn't sacred anymore. It should be something shared between 2 people who truly love each other, not just for experimental purposes. To answer your question, the age of consent should NOT be lowered, that would only increase the abuse of power: Older people having sex with younger children/teens...disgusting!

I agree there must be a minimum age (16?) when the act involves an adult, for legal purposes regarding possible child molesters, but other than that it's ridiculous - and pointless - to try to (legally) tell teenagers when they are allowed to have sex. It's much better to give them free access to all the contraceptives they want and prevent serious problems like diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

I don't think kids care about the age of consent. They are all so desperate to lose their virginity that they don't stop and think about the consequences.

I think teenagers need good advice and lots of support so that they can make well educated decisions on their own as to when they feel they should have sex for the first time.

Keep it as it is. Its not just about what age kids do it with each other; lower the age to 14 & you will get lots of bald 55 year old guys with 14 yr old girl friends.

Isn't it strange. You can leave home at 16, consent to sex ay 16, even get married - but you can't legally drink in UK till you're 18.
It should be raised to 18 to tie these two important factors together.

sex truly doesnt mean anything anymore to the mtv watching-tight clothes wearing-fifty cent danceng in semi-naked video-teenagers these days, the age of consent is for health and moral reasons-anyone under the age of 18 doing it in my opinion is vile and a rupture of innocence

Kids should still be kids and not pretending to be adults. I personally think that too much pressure is put on kids to grow up faster and faster. Let them be kids first then let them grow up. Its all " get a job when your 16 " or " you should think what university you want to go to. You are 13 you know " Lets slow it down a bit.
