I am so tired of having people sympathize with me and do nothing. For example, "I saw you walking in the rain the other day, you were really wet, why were you out in the rain?" duh, I didn't have a choice, and why didn't they offer me a ride. Or oh that sounds dangerous, hope you get home safely instead of can I give you a ride and make sure you get in safely. I think it is just wrong to see some one in a dilemna in which you could help and then just say, oh you poor thing. Why do people do this?

the people I am talking about are people that I have worked with, gone to church with, etc. I don't expect strangers to do anything but is just not right when someone you know does that. I don't have a lot of power to help people as I am usually the one out in the rain but if there is something I can do, I do it for them.

People are mostly selfish by my expirience, and for an unselfish-oriented person, the situation you described feels like a punch and "hardens" your heart to make you selfish too. But don't give up. It's easy to do what they do, and believe me, their emptyness is following them like a devil. Do your best in every field of your life, be good to feel good (don't make good that makes you feel bad, think hard of this difference), you'll get the reward. Actually, although I haven't read the Bible and I'm not very religius (one may say that I am some kind of ateist, but I am not "alergic" to any religion), I think that the meaning of this was recognized and applied by Jesus. You may ask why most people are selfish, and very little of them are good... I think that mediocrity is statistically justified (the Gaussian curve), but you may find good people as many as you can find very very bad people.

LOL! I don't know why anyone would do that. If for example I knew you, but didn't like you, and saw you walking in the rain, I would drive past and pretend I didn't see you. Only if you said something later would I say, "Oh! Never saw you! Sorry!

My guess is its a kind of passive-agressive thing.

Why don't you tell them how you feel and see if they ever say anything nice to you again?

Are you over it yet?
