in the usa there are 295 million people, now lets say due to ederly people and children that 125 million of those people work full time, so every week we would get 250 million dollars to help medicare and people on welfare ( that really need it ), now i'm not a liberal but i am for helping out other americans, what do you think of my idea?

Our Government needs to spend the, more than enough money they already get more wisely. That's why voting is so important.

That would be great but do you know that in state and federal welfare programs, we already pay out enough money to bring every American over the poverty line six times over? That doesn't include the private money going to people. This means that less than $1 for every $6 we pay to these programs gets to the people that actually need it. The government robs us blind to "help" the poor and robs the poor of the money before it ever gets to them. I suspect they would do the same with the 250 million a week more you are proposing to give them.

The solution is to cut off the hands dipping into the "poor box" and make it more cost efficient to get money to those who need it not put further burdens on the the taxpayers to fund graft and political corruption.

I already get hundreds taken out of my check for disability medicare and medicaid i come home with less than half that I earn for taxes for the poor. I cant buy anything wihtiout being taxed and of course my house is taxed. I also have to pay state federal and city tax on the money i supposed made but do not have the right to spend because it is removed from my check and spent as the government sees fit. No i do not need more taxes

You realize that the government had millions of dollars in overpayments to things this year alone, right? Simple accounting errors. Seriously, they paid me too much for school. I've been trying to give it back, but they say that they can't take it until they find their mistake. It's crazy. Seriously, they need a huge audit. then we need to start out at square one. America has plenty of money. Sadly, everyone's priorites aren't where yours are. The point is, stay the way you are. Teach others to do the same, because we are a greedy country!

The government would find a way to spend 249 million of it on administrative fees and overhead and only 1 million would go to the program.

It's the same problem with nearly everything run by the gov. Too much waste.
