I took a tattoo in crete not too long ago.
Its on the back of my arm, right above the elbow, a tribal of some sort, filled. Blank ink used, not too big.
However, its gone a month, and i can still feel the tattoo shape when i touch it. My sister who took it in norway never had this problem.
Is this normal? Is there a posibillity that the needles were infected? The place looked amazingly nice and there was two cops outside it and an english man who worked there(and had previously worked in netherland, US and England). Should i visit a doctor?
Btw. I'm 16, and please dont comment that I'm too young to have a tattoo, you're wasting your time.
Thank you

Honey, if it doesn't go away that means the needle went too deep. And that means your scarred. I have the same thing on my thigh & I got that tatt like 5 yrs ago. That means I can never get it covered up, not that I want to. Don't worry tho you're not infected. I have 8 tatts all by the same guy & that time the needle happened 2 go too deep.

I have 5. Sometimes the one on the back of my neck and the one on the base of my spine feel a bit raised, I put it down to the skin getting warm. I don't think there's anything to worry about. You only need to be concerned if the scabbing doesn't heal - which you've already said has. You'll be fine, and like someone else has already said, you'll have a load more by the time you're 20! I'm getting two more for my birthday in October!
Good luck though, but I'm sure you'll be fine

It's maybe just going to take some time for it to heal properly, I have saw someone else's tattoo be fairly raised round the edge for a good year after they had it done.If you are worried you could go to a respected tattoo parlour where you live and ask them to have a quick look for you and explain the situation or just go to your GP. If it was infected it would be painful and red all around the outside of the tattoo.
Hope this helps.

Tattoos all take different healing times dependent on the area you have been inked on. I had one on my ankle about three months ago and that took over a month to heal. If you are worried though it might be best to get it checked for your own piece of mind. But remember that we all have different healing paces. Some places on the body take longer than others.

it could be that you have very sensitive skin in that area and it's still swollen from the needles. Mine did that for about 6 months after I got it and it still does it once in a while after I've been in the sun for an hour or so. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts hurting or itching real bad. Then you could just be allergic to the ink that the artist used.

Its just where the ink has gone into your skin. It will properly fill a bit lumpy for a long time if not always. Remember you have scared your skin. Don't worry by the time your 20, you would have had a least another 3 /4 tattoo's...........

I got my first tattoo when I was 18, the second when I was 20, and my third when I was 21 and I still feel the shape of all three. It's normal don't be worried about it unless you feel pain or something.

The person that tattooed you could have left some scarring, which will raise the skin on you tattoo a little bit, but as long as it isn't sore you should be OK.

was he wearing gloves, was the bin empty was the floor clean. did the place smell of disenfectant. if the answer is no then get checked by a profesional. no tatooist should touch a 16 year old anyway so alarm bells are ringing straight away.

Maybe it's just taking a while to heal, if the scab has already gone, maybe best to get a doc to check it out
