How to deter skunks from outside the house?

I know human hair is supposed to work for raccoons. Does anyone have any ideas about keeping skunks away?

moth balls, get the regular ones and the cedar scented ones-they HATE that! once we put these outside our property skunks have NOT returned. Good Luck
