I still pick pennies up, they still value for me, it just makes me happy to find money, pennies are still spendable, right? I just recently read something on AOL and wanted to ask this question here in the forum. Your answers are valued, thank you all in advance. Please no nasty answers, this is a genuine question. :)

My wife once went to one of the local grocery stores and overheard some of the cashiers talking about a guy that, upon being asked if he had any coupons, replied “I make $30, 000 a year, I don’t need any coupons”. The cashiers were all a buzz, saying things like, “Wow, if I made $30k a year, I would have a maid, and an Olympic size pool” and other such things like that. My first thought when I heard that was “Wow, I make quite a bit more then $30k a year…and here are my coupons”. Yes I still pick up pennies; I still use coupons and anything else that can be redeemed as money. Money is money, it really does not matter what form it comes in…it all spends the same. The rich don’t get that way by throwing money away, and if I ever want to get there myself, I will follow that lead. :-)

I pick them up and throw them in my penny bottle - there will come a day all those pennies will be counted for and useful too, and as the old saying go -- see a penny pick it up- all the days follows you have good luck I dont bout that but seriously there has been times i pick a penny up and for sure the next purchase i make i need a penny just a penny to total the amount due and then there is a penny i picked up -- sure came in handy. Up to you but I pick them up. They are not a waste of time.

Picking up Pennies or any money is a spiritual process whereby you are accepting the gifts the Universe offers up to you. You al-ways have what you need, and then some. When you give the time to pick up the penny, you get value in return. It feels good to pick up pennys:)

I don't pick up pennies or any loose change from the ground because I have about $10 of loose change in my purse right now as I speak. Definitely don't need more :p

And I don't believe about the good luck part.

I am rarely out without my children so I always allow them to pick them up and I tell them that they are pennies from Heaven. When the girls are not with me I pick them up only when they are on heads. If they are on tails, I turn them over for the next lucky person to come along!

My mother picks up pennies (and any coins she finds on the street) and puts them in a jar labelled "Pennies for Jesus". My brother is a minister and at the end of each year she adds up all the coins she has found and writes him a check for his church. One year she had over $20.

My son got a big kick out of this and started his own "Pennies for Jesus" jar and now he also picks up pennies. He also saves his own change and sends that to her for the church. This has taught him to save and be generous. And it all started picking up pennies.

I always pick up pennies. I used to work at a bank & used to bring home the coin wrappers & save all of my change. I cashed it in several times throughout college & it helped provided a few meals during some thin times.

Find a penny, pick it up, all this day you'll have good luck!

For some reason I still believe in that, so yes, I still pick pennies up! :)

I love dropping pennies for rich cheapskates to bend down and pick up. Makes us both feel good. The cheapskate because he's getting a penny and me because I've made the monkey do a trick.
