Fire Prevention Officers also track and ensure that all Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, Standpipe, Extinguishing Systems, and Fire Escapes are tested and remain in good operational condition. There are over 3100 Fire Prevention Systems in our inspection tracking system.

Also part of the Commercial Building Inspection program involves Fire Prevention Personnel responding to complaints, investigate problems, assist Operation Personnel with inspections, provide Department inspection training and other work with businesses to provide a safe community.
