I am a single parent and raised TWO children with Attention Deficit Problems -- and I can tell you for a fact that their interest in the subject matter or what was being done in the classroom helped tremendously in their listening and comprehension skills.
For children or adults with attention deficit problems -- if you wish to increase their reading skills, you need to tap their interests -- and a good way for a reading instructor to start is by asking each and every person in that attention deficit group to help list what types of books they like (even if they read very few). Then using that information, give these students an opportunity to begin improving their skills by choosing a book within their interests areas -- like if they like Harry Potter (or Sci-Fi/Fantasy) let them read it, same with those that like Romance Books, etc. Adn the teacher or instructor should NOT force at this point mandatory readings on them -- for they are FORMING their comprehension skills.
For listening skills -- the same. When you can't understand what your students like or adapt to the students' needs -- then you will find out they will NOT listen very well, or even struggle with their symptoms.
So yes, when a person is not interested in listening or the material being presented, then this does affect the listening and comprehension skills. Too many times our students are being lost and left behind because nowadays instructors do NOT make the effort to meet the students' interests and try to make the material more interesting to the generation present.

If your attitude is "the teacher is a moron" you won't be listening to him/her or comprehending anything they teach. I would say there is a positive correlation.
Also, a single student with a bad attitude can affect the learning environment of the entire class.
