Its not from karnataka... Its the star of David.. The Star of David or Magen David is named after King David of ancient Israel. It is a generally recognized symbol of Judaism.

Now i dont know, how and why the karnataka Bank adopted the same symbol.. but i see a marked difference in the fact that there is a spot in the middle of it. besides, i recall having seen the same symbol being used for Kolams (rangolis) laid out by Tamil Brahmins... Maybe it has some religious significance in Hinduism too.. but more likely it was a symbol adopted by both faiths... like the Swastika.

Would also like to pointg out that this is a similar case to that of the Coptic Church adopting the egyptian Ankh as their symbol..

For your kind information, Israel has come into existence very long ago, and karnataka Bank was formed as a commercial bank much later. So there is absolutely no connection between the two.

Thanks,
Ashwin.

Good question. However its very unlikely that Isreal copied the bank's symbol. Why don't u post the query at the bank's website?
