Crime and punishment?

Question

At what point did the goverment and society as a whole give up on making prisons a rehabilitation facilitly and turn them into a place were we could just throw away people. Why do criminals get multiple life sentences and not the death sentence. Why are we so scared to carry out the death sentence for murders. I dont think that criminals should have tvs and luxuries in prison. Criminals should not be able to sit on death row for years at a time once convicted they should be terminated with extreme predjudice and for those with lighter sentences they should betaught a trade for four hours a day and then used to fix our roads or do some other civic chores within thier communty to pay for thier crimes. They should not be allowed to sit around and file appeals that are just clogging up the system. This country is way to easy on multiple offenders. Prison used to be a thing to be feared now you have criminals committing crimes with no fear of going back to jail. What do you think

I agree with you...apparently there is a warden in Texas...or Arizona who believes that prisoners should be treated like prisoners and not like they are at some luxury hotel. They are made to wear pink clothes, live in tents with no a/c, are given sandwiches to eat and are made to work to help pay for their keep. That is my kind of punishment....!!! Kudos to this warden! There should be more like him!

Not every state has...the death penalty..and if you want to know what it is like..put yourself.in your bathroom stay there 23hrs a day..have someone let you out 1hr Day yes everyone that brakes the law..and found guilty.should pay for there crime

I agree with everything you said. And they get multiple life sentences in case they have a heart attack and die and are brought back to life.. believe it or not.. that counts as a life term!!!!!!!!
