I tried all the old wives tales, email me if you really want to know them, but I found that having a sweep done by the midwife worked for me. I was 2 weeks overdue and the day after I had the sweep, I had my show.

Like most said walking. My labour did start naturally, but the contractions were really slow, and quite far a part, so I went for a walk around the hospital, by time I got back to the ward I was screaming.
My cousin did go for long walks, which she thinks started off her labour.

Get the walkin sweetie. Drink some good warm green tea and lots and lots of water. Alot of ppl will say have sex it doesn't work trust me, Just walk and keep active it will help so much good luck xoxoxo. You can also buy a breast pump and pump each boob for 5 to 10 minutes. Keep the milk that comes out and feed it to your baby Clostrum is good for the baby that is the foggy milk that will come out 1st. Do not drink castorl it is not good it can make your baby slide down to fast and hurt you both in the end. My mom did that with me and it almost killed me. Please no oil. Never try to force labor unless it is time for your baby i went into labor at 39 weeks but it was because my doctor induced me for med reasons. Let your body do what is right for you and your baby

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT take any herbal medication to induce your labor. DO NOT do any of the old wives tales to make the baby come out. They do not work and can make you horribly sick. I was stupid my 1st pregnancy and tried them all. And my labor never started, I got horrible ill, a nasty yeast infection and completely reprimanded by my doctor for doing it.
My best advice is to walk. Go for a long walk and walk until you feel like you are going to die. I found that malls are the best place to do this b/c of the A/C, bathrooms and drinks everywhere and tons of people around if something were to happen.

I would say no, i was 12 days late with my son, I had to be induced in the end, I tried eating pinapple (until it made my tounge hurt), Hot hot food, walking up hills..non of it made the slightest difference. I couldn't comment on the sex as my partner thought he might hurt the baby (?) and was put off by my tum (made ya feel great)

Raspberry leaf tea but in tablet form. Worked for me with my 3rd and the labour was also less painful and loads quicker. Hope this helps.

I know it sounds funny but sex really is the answer. It was recommended to us by the midwife and it has worked twice now. We ran nearly 2 weeks over both times but on each occasion got things started with just one 'attempt'

All of the above, but your baby will come when he or she is ready, I'm afraid! My daughter was a week late, and I think the threat of being induced was enough for her to eventually want to come out!
