Okay this is a weird one, but hoping somebody can shed some light. A guy I have my eye on has an Iron Cross tattoo on his chest. I know this can be used as a white supremacist symbol, and I'm a little creeped out by that possibility. (It would be a total dealbreaker if he was actually like that.) But he seems like a "skater" kind of guy, isn't this symbol also associated with that culture? I don't know him well enough to just ask him yet. Anybody familiar with this? Thanks!

And it is just plain black, no writing or any other symbols with it.

Wow some of you guys are critical. Yes I am white, no I wouldn't date a white supremacist (would you?!?!?), and no I am not shallow for wondering if I should waste my time on pursuing someone who could believe that crap.

Iron Cross (German: das Eiserne Kreuz) is a military decoration of the Kingdom of Prussia, and later of Germany, which was established by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and first awarded on 10 March 1813. The Iron Cross is only awarded in wartime. In addition to the Napoleonic Wars, the Iron Cross was awarded during the Franco-Prussian War, and the First and Second World Wars. The Iron Cross has not been awarded since May 1945. It is a military decoration only — civilians are ineligible.

The Iron Cross originally was the symbol of the Teutonic Knights (a heraldic cross pattée) and the cross design (but not the specific decoration) has been the symbol of Germany's armed forces (the Bundeswehr) since about 1870.

As you probably seen, many bikers use this Iron Cross symbol on their bikes, leathers, belts, etc.

Well, you can certainly ask him what it means to him - perhaps he just likes the design.

The Iron Cross was a wartime medal, and it was very much German. Yes, it became a symbol of the Nazi's but I don't think you should jump to that conclusion.

Find out from this guy first, then decide.

you could tell him that you think it looks cool and then ask what it represents. He may tell you what you don't want to hear, he could say that he liked it because he thought it was cool, or he could just make something up if he's not sure how you would react to the answer. If this is the only clue that he's a white supremacist, then that's not much to go on.

It's also the symbol of a certain motorcycle company. I don't think he's a white supremicist, but if you wanna' find out, use a racial slur around him. Sorry, best I could do...

Woooot. That's the tattoo of the supernatural idiot. Why put a tattoo on your body? Others are looking for a skin whitener or something to make their skin unblemished. While persons with tattoo do otherwise. First, a tattoo is like a dirt on your skin. Second, you would have difficulty looking for a job when you have a tattoo. The bible states it is sin.

You shouldn't base anything on his tattoo but on getting to know him. Who knows or cares why he has it. Just ask him is the easy way and get to know him. Are you that shallow that seeing a tatt makes the whole difference?

Are you not white?

Anywho, yes, the BASIS of the tatt is for white power, but you have to understand that today's youth doesn't really look at it that way. They look at it like 'oh wow, what a cool looking cross'. I doubt he's all into White Power... :-p

You shouldn't worry so much, lol

by the way ,, i don`t like a tattos..

UNFAIR.....

its unfair that ....
that i love you so madly ,
while you don`t know....
and to missed you so much,,,
while you didn`t feel that ...
and to tell all the world about you ,,
while you didn`t hear that ....
and to write all my poems to you ,,,
while you didn`t read them ....
and to be so jealous about you ,,,
while you didn`t realize that ....
and to wait you all the time,,,
while you didn`t come yet to me....
yes ,,,
unfair that what you do...
