Do these take up space on my hard drive? If so please

I can't delete files on your computer; and even if I could, I wouldn't do it, I'm not that kind of guy ;-)

Documents, like any other file, take space on your disk. If you don't need that documents any more, delete them like you would any other file (select the file and press "Delete" OR right-click the file and click the "Delete" command OR right-click the file, press and keep pressed "Shift" and click the "Delete" command. Be carefull with the last method: it deletes your files for good and you won't be able to recover them).

If you are talking about deleting the actually documents that you have written in word perfect, simple go to the directory they are in, right click on them and select delete.

If you mean the listing that appears on the File menu that shows the names of the last few documents that you opened, those do not take up enough space on your harddrive to be worth deleting. They are stored as part of the registry. All it stored is a line of text with the file name in it. If you delete the information, it store a line of blanks instead. So you save no space by deleting those.
