Every one of the answers above is misinformed. Please ignore them. The reason your hair could change colors as you as is the same reason you look different when you're older. There are certain genes that are responsible for development. In other words, the genes that determine your biology as a child are not the same genes responsible for your biology as an adult. As you mature, different sets of genes are turned on and others are turned off.

Most people have blond hair when they are born, but then as they become older the brown hair gene in their DNA activates itself and the hair becomes brown.

I don't understand all the genetic stuff, but I went from light light blonde as a toddler, to red hair around age 8-10, to dark brown hair by Middle school, then started graying in High School, now I'm back to Blonde, thanks to my hair stylist :-)

It is the same genetic principle that causes eye color to change in animals after they are a few weeks old. I would suggest you look in a biology book or source for more information on this topic.

I had straight blonde hair as a kid. Now I have kinky/curly brown hair. I think either the Jewish or African gene kicked in during my early teens.
