you need to find out the reasoning behind why your family doesn't like him.No one should ever make you choose. See what they have to say and go from there, if you love him enough you will be able to find the right answer!!

Look I don't know the whole story, but if you are under 18 then obey your mom. If you are over 18 and out of the house then the choice is yours. If you are over 18 and at home, either move out and get a job and support your self and do what you want. Or stay at home and dump the guy. Parents only look out for your best interest.

I'm in the same situation (parents vs. girlfriend I live with). I have to play both fields, unfortunately. Getting rid of either is not an option for me. You will step on so many toes it's not funny, but it's your life and you have to live it as you see fit. I practice complete separation between both sides, and again, you will usually take the beatings because of this. I don't like it, but it's the only way I know to keep both parties in my life.

No one should put you in that kind of situation! You should never have to choose between family and a relationship. Think about why someone would do that before making a decision.

Your mom is probably seeing something bad in your boyfriend that your love for him is blinding you from. Stop and try to see what she see's. No mother wants to see their child be in a bad relationship. If you can't see her perspective ask her why she wants you to choose, and don't just ask her you need to really listen to what she's saying without judging her response as hateful or hurtful.

My daughter chose her boyfriend over me and her dad. Now we dont have any communication. But our problems are from more than that.
