For the same reasons anyone can, regardless of gender, because they are petty and immature....kind of like people who generalize a complete gender.

Well, that's quite a genderalization, but... It's a forgiveness issue. They're attempting to get revenge for some perceived wrong, without actually confronting and dealing with the issues. Whereas guys (again, a genderalization here) are more likely to just say, "Hey man, you pissed me off when you..." and have it out, get it overwith, and move on. Don't buy into the mentality though, those who don't forgive become slaves to their own hate, and those that backstab never relax because they're always watching their own back.

I would just consider that to be human nature. I believe backstabbing results from jealousy.

I believe the reason that girls are so backstabbing / bitchy, is because they can't take out their frustrations by having a fight, like men tend to do.

Jealousy, boredom, insecurity. I found this out when a supposed friend tried to break up me and my fiancee of 4 years. It seems to make them feel good to ***** and backstab but they'd feel different if someone hurt them as bad! It just never seems to happen that anyone can make them feel as bad as they make you feel!

Just their nature. Some want what the others have, so they'll back stab trying to complicate other and their relationships...Do like the rest and get male friends.
