umm i would go to a gym, and since you are a rower, you should do alot of work out with your arms..like pulling weights and other things..just building your upper body and arms..bench presses and such

that is WAY to broad of a question.

if you are a professional crew memeber, the team should have a strength coach.

just a few notes/things to be worried about:

rowing works the lower back, upper back, biceps, and rear delts, this will most likely result in terrible muscle imbalances. Make sure that you do some weight-training for you abs, pecks, triceps, and front delts.

Some might say that there is no point to training those body part because they will just make you heavier and you don't need them for rowing - THIS COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. Opposing muscle groups to, in fact, have a significant impact on each other. Having muslce imbalances will also result in pulled or torn muscles, misalignment that could result in back, patella, and shoulder problems.

I'm not sure what rowing does for the legs, but make sure that you work both the quads (front) and back (hamstrings) or your legs.

Rowing is very good exercise by itself! You need warm up exercise routine, with exercise for shoulder and back, after general warm up for all parts of body. Yoga routine, a half hour package, in the morning with movements for all parts of body from head to toe, peaking with some thing like jogging and then cooling down gradually, would be best.

I have no idea. When you go to a gym, many times there is a person who's job it is to help you figure out the best routine for the results you want.

For rowing, I would say a lot of chest excercises, a lot of curls, and not to be a pun, but rows that isolate the chest, and arms.

Wow, that is too hard of a question to answer. I mean, I sincerely apologize, but my brain cells are hurting from trying to come up with an answer, I mean, OUCH!, that hurts.

Now wasn't that a c**p answer??
