Yes. This happened with my second pregnancy. They did the blood work to check hormone levels and then they did a vaginal ultrasound. Everything was fine. I was told that this kind of discharge happens with some women. It is blood and may be from the implantation bleeding.
I hope that is true in your case. I'm sending good thoughts.

You asked my question! I am 5 weeks along and have had light brown spotting for a week and a half now. I found out I was pregnant last Wednesday, and the Dr brought me in a day later for an ultrasound. He said because I was spotting, they wanted to ck it all out. Everything looked fine (well, as fine as you can tell at 4 wks!). My discharge/spotting has gotten a little bit heavier this week- nothing that would require a pad heavy. I called my doctor and went in for an exam yesterday. He says it is concerning whenever a woman bleeds at all during pregnancy. He wants me to come back next week for an ultrasound, bloodwork, and another exam. Ugh.
As long as you are telling you doctor everything when it comes to the spotting, you are good to go. Your body will determine whether or not the embryo is suitable for survival or not- so that is how I have been looking at it. I have heard so many people say that they spotted or no someone who did, that how is it not more common than it is?
Your blood work will tell them that all your hormone levels are doubling like they should- which could be why you have been spotting too. I have had it done twice already.
I am praying for you and myself that everything will clear itself up and be all good.
Good luck and congratulations

Yes, you can still bleed and go on to have a normal pregnancy. Especially if it's light like you are describing.
You should worry about the blood if:
1. it's heavy like a period or heavier
2. you have mild to severe cramping with it
3. you feel dizzy or lightheaded.
and even with these you may be ok. You did the best thing by having it checked out. I hope everything is well!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I too, had what I call old blood discharge and my doctor explained that sometimes when the egg sac attaches itself to the walls in the uterus this may happen. I have a beautiful, sassy, attitudish, and sweet twelve year old daughter to prove that this type of discharge isn't always for concern.

When I was 6 wks. pregnant I had a gush of blood come out and I didn't even know that I was pregnant. Nothing ever came of it and I have a healthy 3 mo. old but I would bring it up to your doctor at your next appt.

I had a regular period with my first son. If the doctor isn't overly concerned then u shouldn't be. Relax, stress is horrible for a pregnant woman and her baby.

yes it happens to anyone who don't know what's going on with their body, and you are scared. As long as you know that you and your partner is clean then relax. It will be ok!
