Practice -- find fun activities to work the skills of math in. For example, if you are weak in the basic skills, take along on your next grocery shopping trip a pad, pencil, paper, and even a cheap calculator -- and write down as you go through the store the prices of the items you are purchasing. Then compare that to the shopping list from the register -- observe which items are taxed, and at what rate. Use this pad and pencil notes to check the receipt BEFORE you leave its parking lot -- and I can assure you that if you do this -- you will most likely find ERRORS -- especially at Wal-Mart and other discounters -- which actually saves you money and practices skills.

There are also many available skills builders workbooks available from bookstores and even in discount stores -- look in the school supplies sections (or education sections). Pick these workbooks up -- they do have good ideas for activities to build your skills.

For most people though -- the skills build when they find everyday errors in their purchasing habits, the change they are receiving from the stores, etc.

You are weak in math because the vast majority of math teachers don't teach to the different learning abilities in their classrooms. Many people are weak in math because they think from a different part of their brains, they are more verbal and creative and not analytical. Seek out math learning tools that will speak to how your brain works at a book store with educational material. Your worst math subject is most likely Algebra, which drives creative people out of their minds...I know, I fall into that category. I bypassed Algebra and went on to Statistics, levels higher, and did well (B+) because my book was word problems that were understandable.

first u need to learn ur basics
u can do that urself with some help from others.
pick up ur old textbooks and start reding and solving

attend all ur classes ask whatever doubts u have to the teacher
be in company of those who are good at maths
ask them for help whenever u get stuck

u will have to do most of the things urself
where threre's a will there's a way
it's very nice of u that u want to improve ur maths instead of just hating it. but don't give up midway.
learn it at your own pace. take it as u are learning a new language.

Just remember - all math is easy, once you understand. Adding 1+1 was hard at the beginning, but after you understand it, it's easy.

Now, finding someone who enables you to understand is a different story. We all learn in different ways. If you can relate it to something you do understand (like Magic Cards, Accounting, Drawing, Sports statistics, etc.), you'll have a much easier time of it. Some libraries/communities (like mine) have peer-to-peer tutoring organizations. You might want to check at the library to see what's available.

Good luck to you!

hi, you have to like math and have a good attitude. just tell yourself you like math and its not that hard, then try to believ it. everyday, twice or even once a day, take an hour or two or even three off. try practising as many numbers as you can... tillyou get good at it. if you need help find it. ask someone who's good at math to help tutor you over the weekends. you'll get toreally love it when you rush through those numbers but practise makes perfect. its got to be done everyday..... you'll see
