Do you remember when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had teleconferences to raise money for the families of the 9/11 highjackers, but Iraq is the real enemy right?

I am assuming this is not a real question because you knew the answer and are making a point. A good point. None of the hijackers were from Iraq. The majority were from Saudi Arabia, a long-time ally of the US.

Right after 9/11, there were these commercials that would come on talking about how Saudia Arabia was such a great ally of ours. I don't know if they were national spots. I live in the DC area so they may have just been local, but I wanted to puke everytime I saw them because I knew they were trying to do damage control.

Thanks to the war in Iraq, we now have a new enemy that we did not have before 9/11.

Not a 1 of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi nationals. I believe some originated from Saudi Arabia

Iraq is not the real enemy. The real enemy is and has been Iran. The problem is the complexity of the situation. We took out the Taliban in Afghanistan and were accused of fighting a war against Islam (which is actually what we must do in order to win this war, no one has the guts to say it though). We also had the problem that if we created a power vacuum in Iran, there was no doubt that Saddam would have moved to fill it. So the next logical target was Iraq.

By attacking Iraq, a nation we were still technically at war with since 1991 (we were in a 'cease fire' and an air occupation for 12 years mind you), we could dispel the notion that we were attacking Islam since Hussein was a secular leader, we could claim that we were finishing a long overdue job, and we would have to occupy a smaller area than after an invasion of Iran. We would also present Iran with the tactical issue of a two front war when time came to take them out. Now, I, for one, can see the prudence of the strategy but I think the execution of it failed badly. I'm not sure there are any easy answers to stabilizing the Middle East with a power vacuum from Mesopotamia to the Himalayas.

None were Iraq Citizens. All but 2 were Saudi Arabian Citizens. 1 was an Egyptian Citizen, and the other was from Yemen.

The mayor of New York refused any money from Saudi Arabia for several reasons:

1. The Royal Family failed to turn over Osama bin Laden to us in 1995.
2. Al Queda is supported by companies and businessmen in Saudi Arabia.
3. Saudi Arabia's lack of support to help FBI agents in the killing of Americans in Riad which sparked suspicion towards Saudi Arabia.

The enemy: Remember that the highest Muslim Cleric issued Osama bin Laden a decree which allowed Muslims to start a Holy War (Jihad) against Christians and Jews. So the real enemy out there are Muslims until that decree is stopped, and all the Arab countries denounce it, and begin to help us in the War on Terrorism.

None of them were Iraqi nationals. Mohammed Atta, one of the hijackers, did have some connections to Iraqi intelligence, though. Before 9/11, Atta met with an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague. Most of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Atta was from Egypt. Two hijackers were possibly from the United Arab Emirates, but the government doesn't know for sure along with Ziad Jarrah, who was from Lebanon. Many of these people lived in multiple countries, making it hard to now for sure where a number of the hijackers were actually from. Iraq could be considered a real enemy because they met with the 9/11 hijackers before the event. Nobody knows for sure if they were directly involved in the event beacause some government officials say that the Iraqi-Al-Qaeda connection was based on false information while other officials said the information was based on good information.

Questions like this do not help a darn thing, there is nothing we can do about it. All those people are gone, our troops are in Iraq, and Bin Ladden is walking around like he has done nothing wrong. Iraq is not an enemy. Saddam Hussein is not a good man and should not be able to harm anymore people, but that doesn't do anything for 9/11.

Hey, I can't believe that you would even ask this question. Why else would we be in Iraq? The Glorious Leader said Iraq was the enemy and now this? Next you'll tell me he didn't catch a record fish on his ranch. Or maybe you'll tell me that bin-Laden was CIA before he was al-Queda. And don't tell me that the Prince of Babylon hasn't read 60 books this year. And I know that given a little more time we'll find those WMDs.

i use to be able to find the F.B.I. official report on the terrorists and who they where but in the last 2 years it has gotten impossible to find .
IF i am not Mistaken 1 i think had a connecting flight with one of the Hijacked planes .
Seriously we all KNOW saddam was behind the terror plot to destroy america .I remember Bush telling me .
HE is a great man and do not believe what others are saying about him .
SEE he has the secret information about the terroists and we are being lead astray .
SEE the real truth is that the 9-11 attacks where really done and co-ordinated by the Israeli secrete service who wanted it to look like saudi arabi did it so america would break of ties with them and be forced to enter into a kind of reccession with higher intrst rates around 9% for mortgage rates and higher rates on credit cards .
THE Jews are unhappy with the low rate of return on the money they have and want to create conflict .
BUSH is a great man who saw through this plan and saved america .
HE just can not come right out and say it .
WE are in Good hands with bush .

You are totally missing the point. The Saudi government is not sponsoring terrorists though some of the members of the Royal family are sympathetic to the Jihad cause and give funds. Saddam on the other hand was sending money (between $5,000 and $10,000) to the families of suicide bombers. I don't think that Saddam had any strong principled ideals, he is all ego and is pissed about deserstorm and would to do anything possible to hinder the USA. That is why it is preemptive.
