Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

No this song is not just for Americans. John Lennon was speaking out on world peace and the possiblity of unity for ALL mankind. I understand this maybe a hard concept for most people to grasp. He was anti war. Think about it,,,,,, if we had no boundaries to keep us apart, if we had no religion except love for one another, if we had no possessions to make one person better than the other we could all live in peace. Understand and get it now?

Thats "Imagine" by John Lennon. It was written during wartime when many young people were against the U.S. occupation of Vietnam.
If you read anything about John Lennon and his life you will understand his passions, if the song alone doesnt do it for you.

Songs are not limited to a nationality. Music is an expression for anyone to hear. Every American knows this song, it's not a new concept you're showing us. Not all Americans believe the same stuff. We're people just like everybody else, exept we happen to have an over-abundance of tree huggers running around.

Do I understand WHAT? Ohh I get it you think we should let illiegal aliens stay right? No we shouldn't. We have legal ways to get in the country, just as other countries do. There is no universal language either. Perhaps we should all speak one language and go anywhere we want and be communists.

This question makes no sense as the song is about dreaming of a WORLD that doesn't hate, doesn't kill, no one wants for anything and everyone loves each other.

Buncha liberal hippie crap, if you ask me.
Right. Human nature will allow us to just "take what we need".
Oh, if only the world would be one big hippie commune. Then no one would ever be motivated to do anything. So much for your so-called "universal health care," which would be an epic disaster, BTW.
