It depends. Some religions require it, so that's important if one follows that religion strictly. Is it medically important/necessary? In the vast majority of cases, no.
But medically, if it were so important, then 80% of the world's male population wouldn't be uncircumcised. And if it were so important, then far more than 95% of all uncut males would have serious and necessary surgical interventions concerning the foreskin.
Yes, circumcision can prevent problems that're limited to only the foreskin. But that doesn't make logical sense. No other part of the body is removed in a preventative surgical way - not the tonsils, not the appendix. Furthermore, safe sex trumps circumcision any day. If circumcision were truly so great, then the US would not have higher rates of STDs than most European countries, where the majority of people are uncut. Besides, circumcision presents its own risks and complications in 1-10% of cases (depending on area and aptitude of the physician). Most complications are minor, but rare complications do occur including gangrene, accidental amputation, etc.
Proper care and hygiene of the foreskin, just like proper care of any other part of the body, is successful in preventing the vast majority of potential problems. It's really easy to keep clean and leads me to think that the hygiene argument is largely out of ignorance. I've never had any problems not being circumcised - no infection, no smegma, no smell, etc. So, no, circumcision is absolutely NOT important, medically speaking.

There are good medical reasons why it sometimes needs to be done....strangulation of the head of the penis by the foreskin or chronic inflammation or infection of the corona (the ring around the head of the penis). However, unless these things are a problem, Circumcision is un-necessary and will reduce the sensitivity of the penis. During youth, lust is responsible for a lot of the feeling, however, as a person ages, it becomes more difficult to climax or ejaculate because the sensitivity has been decreases. The foreskin provides a great amount of sensation. Good hygiene is needed. If the foreskin is a little tight, gentle massage with lubricant may stretch it slightly.

Noone desires circumcision. Circumcision is male genital mutilation, which has genuinely no advantages different than to the unscrupulous medical doctors who make money from it, quite from forcing genital mutilation on babies. There are different strategies for a minor project with the foreskin. The foreskin isn't "greater beneficial pores and skin," that's a complicated shape with rather professional tissues and approximately 20,000 rather professional nerve endings. that's a classic area of a classic penis, and is mandatory for finished sexual sensitivity and overall performance. unfavorable a penis damages its function. Circumcision does not avert any illnesses or infections. the only issues that circumcision prevents are finished, organic and time-honored sexual feeling, function and skill. and of course it hurts. It hurts once you decrease a finger, does not it? The penis is plenty greater gentle, so it hurts plenty greater to cut off a foreskin. whilst they could deaden it for a circumcision, it hurts afterwards, quite while stitches pull out with the inevitable evening erections. Circumcisions are frequently botched, and in many situations fee approximately 50-seventy 5% of sexual sensitivity, or much greater on occasion. Circumcision can consequence in everlasting sexual sickness. Circumcision is a fraud and a hoax. A foreskin isn't a start illness; that's a birthright. ERIC

Well, it seems circumcision brings down the chance of getting STDs (sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS etc) though I am not sure how that happens. So its not a bad idea to safe-guard yourself, especially if you are the kind who pokes his 'nose' in everyone else's business.

I don't think it is, as long as you take care of the area and clean it properly. If not, you or he will get infections and it will be very pain full for him!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!

Yea, if you don't get it done, you might cause infections in years to come, and that's something that you don't want. It also looks better and is easier to clean when you've been circumcised.
