Yeah, that also happened to me. When I answered this question, I waited a couple of days and nothing happened. Then that question was expired and about 1 and a half months after its expiration, I was chosen as the best answer. It could have been that the asker chose it as the best answer or it could have happened automatically.
But I think that I was chosen automatically because if the asker chose me as the best answer, then she would have chose me as the best answer a bit sooner

Yes... but now someone may find that question and answer it... Or the asker may delete it because there is only one answer...
But if no one else answers and the asker doesnt give you best answer you still get best answer voted by yahoo!
..

I don't think so. I think they have to vote you best answer. Good question though. Maybe ask Yahoo! Answer people with an email.
