If you're interested in new animes that are still airing in Japan here are some which is really popular you might like:
Bleach- about a 15-year-old high school student, Ichigo Kurosaki with the ability to see ghosts, and a shinigami (literally god of death), or Soul Reaper in the English manga, named Rukia Kuchiki, who runs into him one day while searching for a hollow (an evil spirit).
Tsubasa Chronicle (season 2 now) - Basically all characters from CLAMP anime and mangas combined in one anime.
Blood+- one of my favourites about vampires, It picks up a few decades after the events of Blood: The Last Vampire.
If you really love CLAMP then you can also watch the xxxHolic anime and other movies.
I'm currently watching Ouran Kokou Host Club, Bleach, Blood+, and Tale of Saiunkoku.
Oh and the names I've mentioned have all been mangas before the anime came out.

The best anime series I have ever seen is certainly Cowboy Bebop. Full Metal Alchemist is decent as well.
If you are looking for a movie I am certain that other folks will chime in. I haven't seen many.
You should detail what style you wish to see, as there are many different styles of anime. Many are 'cute' such as 'Oh my goddess' and I despise these. Most fall into this category. Cowboy Bebop lacks the cute factor, and animation that conforms a bit more to reality with action that doesn't often break many laws of physics (standard sci-fi physics). The characters have a range of emotions similar to that of a real persons, and the problems they face are fantastic (wouldn't happen to you), but still within the realm of things that you may be able to relate to.
Full Metal Alchemist is more on the 'cute' end of the scale, but has enough darkness to make it good. The worst element about the animation, which is common in many animes, is that character's faces often take on the form of their emotions (the huge eyes on a distended face, for instance)

As you can see many of us say Naruto!!, because its simply the best! i love anime, but after ive seen more and more of Naruto i forgot about everything else and im not looking forward to any other anime because all i want to watch now is Naruto.. However the only 1 that can match Naruto is Bleach ;) .. thats also promising.
Bleach+Naruto!!!! No doubt
Because its not just a regular anime where the strongest always win.. its about being smart and having a good strategy to win ;)

If you like horror the watch Elfen Lied, Ghosts at school and Jigoku Shoujo. Classical - Cowboy bebop and Rurouni Kenshin OVA. Action - Inuyasha, BLOOD+. okay Canvas2 is interesting too. But I don't have any idea whether it comes on TV. Cardcaptor Sakura is fantasy type. Well, that's all for now.

You shouldn't. Anime and manga are a waste of your time. Look for something constructive to do. Its much more fulfilling. Good Luck.
