Replace one evil empire with another evil empire?

What happens when the purges take place (and there would be purges)

Yes. USA is still a secular country. If Islam were to take over, that would end. We would be in for another dark ages, another 1000 year period of ignorance and religious atrocities, where the advance of humanity would cease, like after the fall of the roman empire.

Yah, that would suck. And if we are an evil empire, we must be the most inept evil empire in history. We can't even conquer and control a little country like Iraq....

well, Islamic countries haven't done too well in the economic development department. So it would send the whole world into an economic depression.

You can throw any women's rights pretty much out the window.

There are only 13 million Jews left in the world. You can just erase them from the planet. That should solve all the world's problems.

Are you saying that Islam or the USA is an evil empire? If you are saying the USA is evil-I hope that you are the first clod on TV IF they do take over the USA. (having your head cut off)

Hmmmm, interesting , if unlikely but worht a bit of a ramble....

That all depends what you mean by Islam, and which form of it... I think in essence why does their need to be a controlling set of religious values behind any politics? sure the peoples of a countires religious beliefs should be taken into consideration.... AND THEN TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE FAIR TO THEM ALL religion should be taken out of the equation as far as deciding national, and international policy... What place does an individuals private spiritual ideology, have in politics ? In my opinion very very little, and it has been used historically to rouse the masses, and mobilise them toward a certain point of view... in short to control, and you have seen this thought out history.. After all true spirituality comes from within, and all that Religion is , is a organised state like sponsered spirituality aka, Religion,,

Do you really think and creator, or God, would be impressed with the trappings of Roman Catholics? and thier big churches? and the same goes for all of the other "Religions" who are guilty of the same thing..... egotism, and greed, and unbending doctrines in the face of adversity and suffering of its own people... SO I say if you want to do good with spirituality, as individuals, even as a collective of individuals then great... but why does it need the power and trappings , and the desire to control that comes with the religions
I ask you that? is it for God? is it for the general public?
of course you can think about that and see the answer is no... so who benefits from the power?

FOR THE PEOPLE , that is the moto that should be working in politics... There is a problem in many countries now.... a brain drain, a dumbbing down of media, and a smaller and smaller percentage of people willing, or interested in actually reading, studying, searching for information, challenging their own views, and learning, and essentially finding out for your self what is happening....

As for religion in politics lets just break this down a minute..

I mean if you had a decision to make like this:

A man went into a public bar and shot another man in the head, and stole his money...he is caught, he goes to stand trial

Does the judge need to know the religion of either of the men to be able to decide if the shooter should be punished ?
The only reason this should be of interest is if it is not of a single incident, and it was pointing to a wider pattern, and then this should be picked up much in the same way as it is in the medical world,(Studying the statistics provided)
This same logic applies to the governments that control the laws that the judge is working under, do the law makers need to know the criminals ? No because what is at issue here is that one man shot another in the head... simple, I could not care less if one was of a secret sect of ancient monks guarding the secrets of the universe, and the other was a satanist, the facts are simple, there is a law, the law states no shooting of other people, the law was broken, the guilty part punished, regardless of skin, creed, or spiritual beliefs. No clever arguments, no pointing to unfair examples in the past, this is the way it should be.... and this is the way politics should be run now, even though it SO is not.

Same goes for any humanetarian issue, we know like when the tsunami happened, and the earthquakes in Kashmire, that people can come to gether as one and help, because a situation was so bad, that religion or politics did not for a short while matter... how is it that only events like these can inspire such actions? a knee jerk reaction perhaphs, but none the less it happened, so this shows what the people would do, if only the leaders helped point in the right direction, rather than pander to the money men,

I look through out history and I see that a lot of politicians , and religious leaders have essentially been egotistical trouble makers, who are bent on their own power, and the game of international power brokering, and they forget us... forsake us, between themselves and the people pushing their buttons, who are often the people tat get our leaders where they are in the first place.. they do not care about us, and they do not care about the peoplle of the same spirituality as themselves anymore than anyone else... The international banks, The Bank of England, The federal reserve, and their founding institutions and all of the financiers of their ilk, the major industries and its leaders from agriculture to cosmetics, to pharmacuticals to energy industry, they do not care what they do , or where they do it, or which leaders and governments, and their good policys they have to get to , as long as it is job done for them...

None of these f*ckers could give a damn about the average guy,
and the situation in Islamic countries in no better in this regard than in any other, still being controlled , still being taken advantage of, human rights organisations can point that out with some ease...

Basically there are a lot of power hungry people ou there, and generally the ones born rich have a better chance of affording the privillages to be able to get into the game of making more power and wealth...

You could look at the United States now and say already that its government and supreme court is already controlled by a religion, do they constitue an evil empire?

Look at all organisations and governments around the world, and see what is turning the wheels, money, religion, and power.

What about the ordinary people?

The word politics is derived from the Greek word for city-state, "polis". Corporate, religious, academic and every other polity, especially those constrained by limited resources, contain dominance hierarchy and therefore politics (wikipedia definition of politics)

oh and one last thing ... a far more likely course of events is that China becomes more of a dominant influence in the states, as it is playing the same game as the states and I think will eventually engulf the states, and in doing so a lot of its politics and philosophy will come , because as always it will follow the money...
So the states is gonna become red afterall I hear Myron shoutin fom the corridors..

Yes, it would be bad. And whether you believe it or not, the US is a lot better than most places in the world. If you want to go live under the law of Islam, go to Saudi Arabia or something.

Do you mean the people of America volunatarily accepting Islam, or being forced to accept Islam? I can think of a lot of bad things about the latter....bloodshed, loss of freedom, Islamic fascists in control of the U.S. nuclear arsenal....

What is evil? I consider it evil to use bombs on civilians to promote your cause. I consider it evil to shoot women and girls for fleeing a burning house because they were not veiled. I consider it evil when a husband wants divorce he will sabatage the propane cook stove so that it will explode and burn his wife to death. I consider it evil to have more than one wife, and to abuse the female children of the family.

Therefore I believe the muslim culture is an evil culture. More so than the US ever thought about being.
