the best thing to do would be to get rid of the MOBO awards, and not introduce MOWO awards and just introduce another music awards for all.
This sort of nonsence is in part to blame for all sorts of isms in Society.
I was reading about grants to start a business yesterday
"we welcome applicants from ethinic minorities, disabled candidates....."
When someone from an ethnic minority who perhaps has only been in the country for 10 days can apply for a grant, but a taxpayer who has paid his/her taxes for 20 years can't, something is surely wrong. Its the do gooders that appear to be turning people against each other.

MOBO stands for "music of black ORIGIN", it's got nothing to do with the skin colour of the artist actually performing the song. Why isn't there a MOWO? Assuming the W stands for 'white' then it's obvious that most popular music styles did not originate from white sources (classical music perhaps being the most notable exception?).

In our PC-gone-mad society, MOWOs would be deemed racist.

However, I for one am offended by the exclusion and racism directed towards white muscians during the MOBOs.

im happy for there to be MOBO awards, i dont think its racist to celebrate your culture or origin, the problem is that if I as a white englishmen flew the flag of st george, then i would be called racist, which couldnt be further from the truth. people need to stop moaning about what other cultures do, and just enjoy celebrating their own.

Why should there be?? White people have had it all for years and years..why not let black have some glory??? A lot of black music is not as main stream as other music and awards shows like this can let a lot of them be heard. And if you have ever watched the awards you will see that a lot of people in the audience as well as presenting the awards are white.

And to the person who said they saw a hair book for black women - you must realise that black women do not have the same hair as europeans?? Therefore the way we maintain our hair is different.

This question posted seems like a bit of jealousy - we can all have something to call our own. White people embrace black culture and vice versa.

Why, because it would be racist.
I mean an award that is for white people only.... can't see it happening.

I also saw a magazine in the shop today called black hair. No it was not for women with black hair, it was for black women to style their hair. Is black womens hair different than white womans so much they need a seperate book to tell them how to styel it??

Now that's a good question.....I agree with the first answer, anti-racist folks would call M.O.W.O awards racist, why don't they see M.O.B.O awards as racist? I don't see either as racist personally.
