The national guard won't provide some medical services?
What about county hospitals?
Contact a woman's center.
I personally hate the welfare system, but Medicade is usually available.
If worse comes to worse you'll have to do it the old fashioned way like women did it in the 1800s, on your own up to delivery. No hospital can refuse a woman in labor as far as I'm aware.
Teaching hospitals. Are there any nearby at the University! As long as you don't mind 12 Residents and an Intern gathered around you.

My coworker does not have health insurance and she has had 2 babies in the past 2 years and she went to a local hospital (in Long Island, NY) and they have a program that helps moms without insurance. They covered almost everything and took good care of her during pregnancy. You might want to check out for programs like these in your local hospitals. Call them up, and also you can try this website:

Good luck!

The only thing I can suggest is to get a job that includes health insurance, or go online to something like Blue Shield or some other company and sign up for the package.

Did you know that in most places even in florida pregnant women can get medicade. It is only good for you while you are pregnant. I would call Department of Children and Families or go to their website and fill out an application. I am pretty sure that you will get it. It will help you with your medical bills while you are pregnant and after you have a child, you can get Florida Kid Care for you child.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!! Did she not tell you her husband is in the National Gaurd...just so you know Kelly, I gave them all thumbs down ratings.
Your husband should be covered under Tri-care. Basic military insurance, I could be wrong though because he is part time. But you should find out. Contact Fleet and Family Services and they will direct you. Or you could contact WIC (Women Infants and Children)...they may help you. May God bless you and your family.

I dont know if they will help, but give it a try. I know that FAF says its for Navy, but its actually for all military. Good Luck on your search.

You can get medicaid. did you even apply? Don't listen to people that say you can't get it because your man is in the national guard. they clearly don't make enough money to live off of do they? Like $200 or $300 per month? At any rate. Go APPLY for medicaid. You would be surprised how many people qualify! They are not going to reject you. Society really treats women good that are preggers. I know, i'm on medicaid and i work for a law firm and my boyfriend, he works for a moving company and together, we both make really good money. I just don't have health insurance at my job. you have to be here for 5 years and i have only been here for 3 years. go apply! if they denied you, apply again. you will get approved. i guarrantee it! good luck and god bless that precious angel in your belly right now. i am 8 months pregnant right now and i can't wait. no shame in having medicaid for my insurance i'll tell you that right now. no shame at all. it is actually really good insurance! all of my prescriptions are free. dr's. visits are free - no co-pay. i don't plan on staying on it forever, once i get married, i can go on my husbands insurance. but with his insurance, you have to be married for at least 6 months in order to get on it.
