An extrovert is someone who likes to be social and whose interests mostly lie with things beyond him/herself, such as other people and the physical environment. Extroverts are not as concerned with themselves and thus do not focus much on their own thoughts or feelings. Extroverted people are often emotional, impulsive (doing something suddenly based on an urge), confident about themselves in social situations, and are involved in the lives of others. Extrovert is also written as extravert. Extrovert- comes from the Latin word "extra" meaning "outside of," and the Latin word "vertere" meaning "to turn." Put the two words together and you get "to turn outside of."

From A2ZPsychology:

"Extrovert, when used nontechnically, means a sociable person who makes friends easily. In psychiatry, the word has a somewhat different meaning. The Swiss psychiatrist Carl G. Jung defined extroversion as turning the interests and energies of the mind toward events, people, and things in the world about us. As a result, extroverts are more interested in what is going on around them than in their own thoughts and feelings.

In normal people, extroversion is counterbalanced by introversion, and a wholesome balance is maintained between the two tendencies. But in an extrovert, the tendency toward extroversion is greater than the tendency toward introversion."

An extrovert is someone who is always jumping around and doing physixal activity like or dancing because they are more energetic and more fun, introverts are always inside reading a book or sitting down because they have less energy, get tired more, and hate doing fun things, introverts hate having fun

Extraverts are definitely more social than introverts. But that doesn't make them nicer or more thoughtful. I know extraverts that are completely self absorbed and can only talk about themselves or their own experiences and don't really care, or listen to, another person.
