I think it's a brilliant ratings getter. Plus I'm really curious to see who does the best. Will this promote racial harmony? Will we learn to appreciate each others differences?

Out Wit, Out Play, Out Last, no matter what the scenario you are placed in. Just like in the real world. If you don't agree, don't watch. CBS should not pull the show, just as people have the right not to watch, people should have the opportunity to watch. It's not a public execution but a reality show. If those on the show didn't like it, they could have walked off, they have that right.

First, captmhunt is wrong.

I'm black and I don't have a problem with the new Survivor's strategy. In the past Survivor has separated groups based on gender and age. I think it's just another way of group individuals to see what kind of drama they can stir up. After all TV shows are all about ratings.

Okay, so they are divided by race this time. BIG DEAL!!! They will all eventually end up on one tribe. In a way it's good because more people of ethnic backgrounds will be on the show. There are usually only one or two ethnic people per a season. This time there's going to be 12. For the first time, it's actually balanced. I just hope that the teams are equally matched. If one team is overweight and out of shape and another is full of athletes then it's a unfair match.

I knew that bs was going to run its course. Now, it's splitting tribes up into races...next it'll be homosexuals against heterosexuals...Christians against atheists...Blind against Deaf...must I go on!
Sure it'll boost the ratings. People love to see some good segregation. I'm sure the Klansmen or black extremists will love this.
Yes, it might promote racial harmony for that moment but not in the long run. It will create more tension between races though.
If the slavery, the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, and countless others haven't taught us to appreciate each other's differences, I don't think the almight Survivor reality tv show will.

How can it promote racial harmony when they are separated according to race?

I think it will be a better season due to the fact that each tribe will ban together to prove they are better than the others.

I had to come back and add something. You do realize that eventually no matter which ethnic group is leading, they will have to turn their backs on each other so they can try to win the prize.

I think its a BAD idea. Promote racial harmony by pitting the races against each other? Who on earth thought THAT was a good idea? Sheesh.

Each of the tribes will blame the others for their failures regardless of who wins / loses.

I think it's great. What I have noticed, however, is that of the 4 races; Black, white, asian and hispanic... it is only the BLACKS who are screaming FOUL and claiming it's reciest.

Do they fear an honest head to head competition with other races?... Apparently.!

Wow, that is too hard of a question to answer. I mean, I sincerely apologize, but my brain cells are hurting from trying to come up with an answer, I mean, OUCH!, that hurts.
