Absolutely. I am 34 years old, the mother of three children (ages 12, 9, and 4), and have a husband in the military. I am also a full time student majoring in English. Is it crazy? Yep. I don't sleep much and spend most of my time driving, it feels like. But it is SO worth it!

I would say, however, that if you've just finished high school and are asking this question, you may not be ready. It is growing more and more common for HS grads to take a year or two to work and mature before going on to university. So before you take any advice here, do think about why YOU want to go or not go, and weigh your options. It isn't for everyone.

Yes, it is worth going to university...it is worth going anywhere where u think u will learn something..if u are not someone who appreciates simple acquisition of knowledge then u should look for another motivation like building up ur portfolio to be more marketable and broadening your options and possibilities.Life is about being able to compete in the market..and education is about building ur self to be more interesting...But if u do go to university...and u make the best of it..trust me you will also enjoy the experience as well as the outcome.Good luck, i do hope u decide to go

Yes and No.

If you know what you want to do and uni will help your career then yes. if you don't know what you want to do, wait! You don't have to go to uni right now! I started uni when I was 26!

Sometimes employers want experience rather than quailifications.

Say you want to get into TV and film, you could take a year out, do some jobs as a runner. See if you like the work first, before commiting the 3 years and a whole load of cash to some course that will be irrelevant!

Have look at job sites too, see where the shortfall is in recruitment. Try something like jobsite.co.uk or http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/ for jobs.

Good luck in your choices.

Depends what you want to do in life?
A friend has got a position with an accounting firm and they are training her. Shes on a good wage and probably will end up as a partner in a few years earning a bucket of cash.

With the majority going to uni and finding it hard to get a position after. I would say a good job with prospects should not be ruled out.

I also noticed that uni's are now saying Micky-mouse 'A' Levels should not apply.

So sit and think what you want. Plan a goal and go for it.

Yes, why wouldn't it be? Any advanced education is worth it.

Now if your question is it better to go to a university or a college online, then a university would still be a better choice. Interacting with people is what college is mainly about.

That depends on why you go. If you want to learn the things that are only taught in university lecture halls and labs, then it's definitely worth it. If you are looking for job training, being..say, a welder pays well and you won't learn how to do that at university.

Unless you have a viable trade skill then yes. If not, get ready for monotonous tasks, low pay and hitting glass ceilings left an right. Oh and lets not forget being replaced with cheaper labor when it becomes available. University does not stop you from dealing with these issues but it will give you alot more options.

depends what you want out of it and what you're studying.
if you want a good time and to meet new people the yes it's worth it but only if you're going to study a proper subject like law or medicine as well which will lead to a good job.
if you want to do media studies or some crappy I.T course i wouldn't bother cos no-one will employ you at the end of it and you'll end up drowning in debt which will mean you'll have next to no income and poverty means boredom.

Only if you take it seriously. I didn't when I was younger. I quit because going to parties was more important that going to school. Now I am going back after having 4 kids. It is def. worth it to me. I want to show my kids that they need to go in order to not have to struggle to make ends meet.

So, yes it is worth it!
