I am 6 months pregnant and have a hernia behind my belly button... My baby rotated yesterday and is pressed up against my belly and it is causing me excruciating pain where the hernia is..
Any advice on things I can do for the pain? Is there something I can do to get him to move again so he is not pressed right up against it?
Please don't tell me to "see my doctor".. as I already have... I am looking to hear from people who have had a similar issue.
Thanks!!

Thanks for those of you who can read a full question... but for those of you who can't!
-I have been to the doctor, my baby is fine...
-Hernias are PAINFUL, so this is not abnormal!
-I am NOT uncomfortable! I am in pain because a baby is pressed up against an already tender spot where my hernia is.

I had 2 hernia's while pregnant with my daughter. They were really bad too.. I don't know if your popped out like mine did but I would have to basically push them back in. I understand the pain that you are in!!! Just find a comfortable position and stay there til the baby moves. I since have had my hernia's fixed by surgery (which you will probably have to do after baby, its not so bad though), but I am 21 weeks pregnant again and now the mesh where the hernia's were fixed is hurting me. My doctor told me it was safe to take Tylenol for the pain so try that.. And good luck, I feel for you hunny!!!

Okay, I have not had this particular situation however, when I had pains during pregnancy, I would "move the baby" to remove the pressure. By moving the baby, if they are uncomfortable as we are, we move. I do not mean push the baby around I mean if the baby is closer to your right side, lay on that side and slightly rock like you are stuck and trying to turn over on your belly. This will usually case the baby to move. If that doesn't work, rub the area in which the baby is applying a small amount of pressure to move the baby. Good Luck to you!

I had all sorts of issues with my pregnancy and pain too! The thing that helped me with a lot of it is to sit in a nice tub with a bath pillow under your neck! You have to be careful to make it not too hot though! Dont make it above 102 because that is very dangerous for your baby - I kept mine luke warm so I could sit in there for a long time, read pregnancy books or listen to music! If you make it pretty warm do not stay in too long. To get my baby to move, I would massage where I could feel him pushing the hardest and use lotion and push him out of the way. DONT WORRY this will not hurt your baby even if you push really hard which I did when he was really hurting me. He/she is protected very well in there! You will feel which way he will move the easiest, try up down around whatever works! Good luck and remember only 3 months left!! CONGRATS

1 Try drinking a soda or eating something then laying down
2 Try some excerises

hi, i hope this helps. My wife recently gave birth after a very uncomfortable preganancy. she's five feet tall, and the rounder she grew, the more discomfort she was in until finally, in her seventh month, she was getting like 2 hours of sleep at a time, like 3 times a day. she was always exhausted. she needed to pee every ten minutes sometimes. too tiny to carry comfortably, she was NEVER comfy. one of the things that caused her great stress was the inability to find a way to sit or lie down and get at least comfy enough to nap. nothing worked until one day, we just bought a basketful of fluffy pillows at wal mart, took them home, and she used them to carefully arrange herself on the couch or bed, propping up ever place that was uncomfy. it worked. of course, we look back now and it's hilarious! the point is, do as many things as you can try to find a way to get comfortable so that the pain is at it's least. as for the hernia pain, the only thing we tried that helped for Pain-pain was deep, slow breathing exercises we learned in our yaoga classes. it's not demerol, but it helps. good luck, mom, and sorry for your discomfort.

Try putting on some music. My baby used to hear it and move around. It's worth a try.

I know you told us not to say it, but seriously take your doctor's advice. If it's a pain you can't handle well, it is increasing the traumatic stress for the baby and a miscarriage can happen, it all depends on how you handle it.

Masturbate or have sex to orgasm...
