Yup makes you want to wave a flag doesnt it?
But if your not a terrorist then you have nothing to hide so you should let them do it. This is the US government ok? They never mistakes or wrongfully arrest and convict people. For Gods sake its not like they would detain someone for years and years without charging them. So its ok!!!! Just let em in, hell leave the door unlocked make it easier on them. It must be so hard fighting terrorism that we created.

Yes. The Patriot Act allows your property to be searched and siezed if you are labeled a "terrorist".

The Patriot Act broadly expands the official definition of "terrorism," such that many domestic groups that engage in civil disobedience or second amendment activity could be labeled "terrorists." This includes pro-gun groups, pro-life groups, and other activist groups.

They can also take your property away without a hearing if the government feels you are planning an act of domestic terrorism. Without a hearing, they do not have to prove any terrorist plot exists.

Not legally, but do you really think that is going to stop them? This administration has turned the Bill of Rights into toilet paper - its sad. If they are going after terrorists I can cut them some slack, but for all we know they are going after people simply because they don't like them. They can go into your house without even telling you, so how do you know that they won't plant evidence when they do? These are frightening times.

No they can't. They have to get a FISA warrant. There's lots of essays on the matter, if you don't want to read the whole thing.

If Bush thinks it will help the war on terrorism, he can do whatever he wants.
